 St. Anthony's Corner

St. Anthony of Padua, whose birthday we celebrate on August 15, had a sincere devotion to the Blessed Mother. Whether he was preaching or praying, he never failed to call on Mary to assist him. Anthony was an assertor of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and once, while praying, she  appeared and confirmed that that great honor had been conferred upon her and assured the Saint that he could continue to preach this, knowing that he was right.

Apostolic Commissions:  “FORMATION”
Task: To encourage spiritual growth through formation and to have a uniform plan for formation at all stages. Chariperson: Rena Xuereb

All members are encouraged to attend the 14th annual Rocky Mountain Franciscan Gathering October 9-10, 1998. This is a wonderful opportunity for meeting other Franciscans (seculars,
friars and sisters) not to mention the informative topics. This year the theme will be Franciscan Spirituality for the Third Millenium. The cost is minimal and it includes breakfast and dinner. If you
need a scholarship, contact the minister, Christina.

Miscellaneous

Welcome back Virginia Garcia. She was professed in 1981.

An anniversary Mass will be offered for Ellen Sena this month.
